Introducing LiteralCMS: One CMS to Sync Content Everywhere
If you manage content across multiple platforms, you know the pain. WordPress for the blog, GitHub for docs, a headless CMS for the marketing site — each with its own editor, workflow, and deploy pipeline.
We built LiteralCMS to fix that.
The problem
Content teams today are stuck in a loop: write in one tool, copy to another, format it again, deploy, then repeat. Every platform has its own way of doing things, and keeping them in sync is a manual, error-prone process.
When a typo gets fixed in WordPress, you have to remember to update the GitHub repo too. When a new page goes live on the docs site, someone needs to add the internal links manually. It’s busywork that slows teams down and introduces errors.
What LiteralCMS does differently
LiteralCMS is a headless CMS that sits in the center of your content workflow:
- Import content from WordPress, Shopify, or any existing source
- Edit with a clean block editor and AI-powered tools
- Publish to GitHub repos, WordPress, or any connected destination
The key difference is two-way sync. Changes flow in both directions. Edit a post in WordPress, and it updates in LiteralCMS. Push from LiteralCMS to GitHub, and the markdown files appear in your repo. Everything stays in sync without manual intervention.
Built for modern workflows
We designed LiteralCMS for teams that use Git-based workflows, static site generators like Astro and Next.js, and modern hosting platforms like Cloudflare and Vercel.
Our GitHub App integration means you can connect repos without personal access tokens. Content gets pushed as clean markdown with proper YAML frontmatter — ready for your static site generator to consume.
What’s next
We’re in early access and actively building. Here’s what’s coming:
- Shopify and BigCommerce adapters for e-commerce content
- Notion integration for teams that draft in Notion
- Content health dashboard with broken link detection and SEO scoring
- Scheduled publishing with timezone support
